Dec 16th date set for disciplinary hearing for Ottawa Police Service Deputy Chief over sexual harassment allegations

Ottawa police deputy chief Uday Jaswal who is accused of sexually harassing three female employees will face a disciplinary hearing starting December 16th.

Jaswal is charged under the Police Service Act with three counts of insubordination and three counts of discreditable conduct for allegedly sexually harassing and assaulting a female civilian employee and allegedly sexually harassing two female Ottawa police officers.

The charges levied span an eleven year period. Jaswal was suspended with pay last March by the Ottawa police service board.

The Ottawa police service board and the Chief of Police jointly announced last week the hiring of an independent investigators to ascertain the validity of numerous complaints of workplace sexual harassment and violence within the workplace.

Jaswal’s hearing is set down for five days.
