London, United Kingdom – A Metropolitan Police officer appeared in court charged with the kidnap and murder of Sarah Everard.
Wayne Couzens, 48, was arrested on Tuesday after the 33-year-old disappeared when walking home in South London last week
Everard’s body was found in an wooded area in Ashford, Kent.
Couzens wore a grey tracksuit as he appeared for the brief hearing.
He appeared to have a red wound on the upper left side of his head and spoke quietly when asked to confirm his personal details.
Chief Magistrate Paul Goldspring remanded him in custody to appear again at the Old Bailey on March 16th.
