Officer investigated for ties to Proud Boys

Peel, Canada – Peel Regional Police confirmed that a social media page believed to belong to an officer is being internally investigated for alleged ties to the Proud Boys.

On February 3rd, Canada’s government designated the Proud Boys a terrorist organization, labelling them as an “ideologically motivated violent extremist group.”

Both slogans, promoted violence and appeared on the biography section of the Instagram page.

Peel Regional Officer. Akhil Mooken confirmed both the officer and online page are being investigated. He couldn’t provide a statement or share specific details at present.
