Milton, Canada – Halton Regional Police say Dwayne Jason Thomas, 42, a corrections officer at Maplehurst Correctional Complex, was arrested on March 25th and subsequently charged with two counts of breach of trust and two counts of sexual assault.
Police commenced an investigation after they first learned of a sexual assault that took place inside the Vanier Centre for Women on March 5th.
During the investigation, police say they identified a second victim, allegedly sexually assaulted the same day but in a separate incident also.
Thomas was released on an undertaking, but investigators believe there are more victims.
Police say the case is subject to a publication ban.
Thomas’s next court date has been set for Apr 13th.
