Toronto police officer accused of performing indecent act

Toronto, Canada – A Toronto police officer has been charged after he was allegedly caught committing an indecent act in Whitby on Monday.

Durham Regional Police say they received a call for service to the McKinney Centre just after 8:30 AM, March 1st, for a report of an indecent act.

Police allege a young female witnessed a man perform an indecent act while standing outside his vehicle.

After being confronted by a member of the public, the man drove off at speed through a nearby commercial parking lot.

He was later identified and was arrested.

Ryan Walters, 33, of Whitby, was subsequently charged with dangerous operation of a conveyance and indecent act in a public place. He was released on an undertaking.

Toronto police confirmed Thursday that Walters, an officer of six years based at 51 Division, was suspended with pay.
